The competition was attended by Dr. Mai Minh Nhat - Vice Rector of Dalat University; Associate Professor Dr. Trinh Thi Diep - Head of the Chemistry and Environmental Science Department; Mr. Pham Hong Hai - Secretary of the University’s Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Head of the Environmental Protection Department (Lam Dong Department of Natural Resources and Environment); Mr. Tran Duy Anh - representative of Saigon Green Biotechnology Company; along with university staff, teachers, and students from various departments and youth clubs.
This activity was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Lam Dong Department of Natural Resources and Environment, in support of National Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Week. With the message “Protecting water sources and maintaining environmental sanitation is protecting and preserving your own health and that of your family,” 50 students from the Chemistry and Environmental Science Department and other departments participated in the Golden Bell Competition, modeled after the VTV3 version from Vietnam Television.
Participants answered 20 questions related to issues such as: Water source protection; environmental sanitation; climate change; greenhouse effect; Red Book; nature conservation; natural phenomena; and environmental events.
The competition was lively, engaging, and serious, with enthusiastic and spirited support from the audience. The competition was intense due to the 15-second time limit for each question, with content that was both academic and closely related to daily life.
After three rounds, the organizers awarded 1 first prize to Tran Anh Tai - Chemistry and Environmental Science Department, K45 Pedagogy; 3 second prizes to Le Thi Bach Hoa - Chemistry and Environmental Science Department K44 Pedagogy, Nguyen Ngoc Lan Phuong - Guitar Club, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diem - Volunteer Student Club; and 2 third prizes to Cao Thanh Giang - Chemistry and Environmental Science Department K44 Pedagogy, Nguyen Thi Thuy Hong - Campus Life Rhythm Club. The Best Supporter award went to the Biology Department’s Youth Union.
The competition effectively conveyed its message to everyone, especially the younger generation, encouraging the development of sustainable lifestyles, harmony with nature, and the rational use of natural resources and biodiversity, as well as adaptation to climate change through policies and activities aimed at greener and cleaner living. Annually, during Environmental Action Month, hundreds of Dalat University students engage in themed activities and campaigns across Da Lat City, promoting community participation in environmental protection and directly collecting waste to help make the city greener, cleaner, and more beautiful.
